Why Infrared Heat?

One of the safest and easiest ways to detoxify the body is through consistent use of an infrared sauna. With rising popularity, infrared saunas are now regarded as one of the best approaches to enhancing overall wellness. They’re portable and can be set up in nearly any location—even Russian cosmonauts installed one on the orbiting space station! Infrared technology solves the classic issue found in traditional “box-of-rocks” saunas, which can make breathing difficult by heating the surrounding air. Instead, infrared saunas keep the air comfortable by directly warming the body through penetrating infrared waves.

Why are Clearlight® Infrared Saunas So Effective?

Unlike traditional saunas, infrared saunas release toxins through a unique, two-stage detoxification process. The first stage, mobilization, frees toxins from cells, often from fat cells. When infrared wavelengths are optimized, they initiate a resonant frequency that causes the cells to vibrate, amplifying the effect of the infrared energy.

The infrared heat penetrates approximately one to one and a half inches into soft tissue, causing toxins to detach and move into the interstitial fluid (the fluid around cells). In the second stage, elimination, toxins are then expelled through perspiration, utilizing the skin—the body’s largest organ—without overloading the liver, kidneys, gastrointestinal tract, or lungs.

Low-Temperature Infrared Therapy

Infrared therapy is a form of low-temperature treatment. According to scientific calculations, lower temperatures emit high-quality far infrared heat. Clearlight True Wave® Heaters, operating at around 180-200°F, deliver superior infrared heat quality compared to other heaters that reach 450-700°F. The Clearlight® Sanctuary Saunas also provide 1,000 watts of full-spectrum infrared, optimizing the therapeutic experience.

For the best results, preheat your sauna for 30-45 minutes, allowing the temperature to increase throughout your session. Thanks to the low-temperature nature of infrared therapy, you can comfortably remain in the sauna longer, sweat more, and gain enhanced benefits.

Is Cabin Temperature Important?

The cabin temperature in an infrared sauna is both important and secondary. The primary benefit comes from the infrared heat warming your body. You can sit in the sauna with the door or roof vent open and still experience the therapeutic effects of infrared heat. However, many people prefer a warmer cabin for added comfort and to help raise core body temperature. A high-quality infrared heat source and a sufficiently warm sauna cabin together create an ideal infrared sauna experience.

Clearlight® saunas strike the right balance between quality infrared heat that deeply penetrates the body and warmth that creates a comfortable environment.

The Importance of Heater Placement

For effective core temperature elevation, it’s essential to be fully surrounded by infrared heat. Infrared rays move in straight lines, so heater placement on the back, side, and front walls, as well as below the legs and on the floor, ensures maximum body exposure. Each Clearlight® sauna is designed with strategic heater placement to bathe you in infrared heat from all sides and beneath.

Some saunas may have heaters extending to the ceiling, which wastes energy and doesn’t focus on the body’s core. Other saunas may have ceramic heaters placed sparsely, offering limited infrared exposure. With Clearlight® saunas, both the number and placement of heaters are optimized for superior efficiency and effectiveness, enhancing your overall infrared wellness experience.
